Glossary

Terms as used within KOMUNIKATOR and its operating practices. Definitions are functional, not analogical.

Usage

Terms defined here are not interchangeable. Where ambiguity arises, this glossary governs interpretation.

Terms

Appointment

Formal assignment of responsibility that authorizes presence, observation, and determination within an operating environment.

Without appointment, no determination of organizational and leadership condition is made.

Apex Overwatch

An institutional line of work concerned with responsibility, determination of operating condition, and governance at the highest level of an organization.

Continuity

Sustained preservation of operating condition over time through calibrated presence and re-exposure to decision environments.

Continuity is not oversight and not constant involvement.

Decision Environment

The setting in which authority is exercised through decisions under pressure, including timing, consequence, and accountability.

Demonstration Environment

A controlled setting used to make operating principles observable where determination of operating condition cannot be conducted directly.

Demonstration replaces explanation.

Determination of Operating Condition

The establishment of the actual state of an organization’s decision-making, authority, consequence, and execution under live conditions.

Operating condition is determined through exposure, not inferred from reports.

Drift

Gradual degradation of operating condition caused by misaligned incentives, blurred responsibility, exception accumulation, or avoidance of consequence.

Engagement

A bounded period of appointed responsibility within which observation, determination of operating condition, correction, and continuity may occur.

Exposure

Direct presence within live decision environments under real constraint.

Exposure is the primary source of determination.

Operating Condition

The current state of an organization’s ability to make and execute decisions under pressure with clarity of authority and consequence.

Operating Practice

A defined line of work conducted under KOMUNIKATOR that applies or demonstrates principles within specific constraints.

Operating Posture

The stance from which work is conducted, including independence from execution, distance from incentive, and refusal to comment without mandate.

Presence

Intentional participation within decision forums for the purpose of observation and determination, not intervention or facilitation.

Responsibility

The state in which authority, accountability, and consequence are aligned.

Responsibility is structural, not personal.

Snow Discipline

An applied practice used to demonstrate disciplined operation under environmental constraint.

At times, demonstration is conducted live in alpine environments.

Redline Protocol

An applied practice used to demonstrate disciplined operation under mechanical and procedural constraint within live systems.

Structural Correction

Targeted modification of authority, process, tooling, or consequence required to restore operating condition once drift has been identified.

Threshold Decision

A decision made at a point where timing, constraint, and consequence converge and reversal is limited or impossible.

Work

Activity conducted under appointment where responsibility, determination of operating condition, or continuity is required.

Work does not include advisory commentary or external opinion.

Note

Language constrains action.
